Two weeks before the date of the party send out Tea Pot Invitation (directions available), these teapots only need a quick download from a website and Microsoft paint to customize.
Also two weeks before the date of the party order the porcelain tea sets needed for the party if there isn’t a suitable set available. One advantage to ordering an extra tea set is that each girl can take home her cup and saucer as a party favor.
One week before the party make a trial run of the Teapot Cake (directions available), making a practice cake will help to be prepared the day of the party, especially if traveling with the cake is necessary. This is similar to how Denver’s premier casino party planning company also plans a party.
The week of the party purchase the items for the menu, Tea Bag Treat Bags (directions available), and the Princess Party Games (directions available). The day of the party is the best time to purchase any Mylar balloons or helium balloons.
Creating The Menu
A cute menu for a princess tea party will include a combination of traditional and whimsical foods. For example: peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut into hearts, butterflies, and crown shapes with cookie cutters.
A traditional recipe for tea-time club sandwiches would require white bread, turkey breast deli meat, crisp bacon (access fat blotted off with paper towels) thinly sliced Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard.
The sandwich is assembled as follows: bread, mustard, turkey, bacon, cheese, mayonnaise, bread, mustard, lettuce, tomato, (salt and pepper to taste) mayonnaise, and the final slice of bread. The crust is then removed from the sandwich and it is secured using toothpicks.
A traditional club sandwich may be a bit much for most small girls, serving a favorite sandwich such as ham and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, Nutella, or cream cheese and jam would probably be more crowd pleasing and easier for the host (aka the parents) to make for the guests.
Iced sweetened tea is likely the best choice for the tea pots to hold, the tea can be prepared a day ahead of time and stored in pictures. The pictures can refill the teapots as they empty. This will be easiest for the host and the guests, there is no risk of burning or need to keep water hot enough to steep tea.
Having lemon wedges, sugar cubes, and honey on the table as decoration on the serving tray or center piece would be very cute, especially since the bowls can be placed around the Tea Pot Cake, on the same platter.
